Redhall Networks

THE OPPORTUNITY

Redhall Networks is a leading service provider to the mobile telecommunications and broadcast sectors providing service, maintenance and upgrade capabilities to the mobile phone infrastructure and the commissioning and integration of 2, 3, 4 and 5G networks. Well known in the market for providing expertise and a reliable service to its customers, Redhall Networks has ambitious growth plans to capitalise on the 5G rollout across the country.

THE CHALLENGE

On acquisition, the Company employed 55 people from its Head Office in Chesterfield, Derbyshire with 17 teams of engineers that provide services across the country.

The Company has a strong and profitable history but faced unexpected challenges following the well-publicised insolvency of its parent company Redhall Group Plc.  Enact quickly recognised the underlying strength of Redhall Networks and was delighted to support the MBO by the founding management team of Gavin and Simon Rabbitt. Enact was able to move quickly, providing the minimum of disruption to the business and its customers.

THE IMPACT

In June 2019, Enact completed its maiden acquisition from Enact Fund II, just days after formally launching the Fund. Enact supported the MBO of Redhall Networks following an accelerated process, demonstrating its ability to move at speed by completing the transaction in just five working days from introduction.

THE EXIT

Enact subsequently exited Redhall Networks in March 2021, the business being acquired by WHP Telecoms for an undisclosed value which realised a strong return for shareholders. WHP, a customer of Redhall’s, recognised the acquisition as a strategic opportunity to secure a leading mobile telecommunications service provider, in-source market leading maintenance and update capabilities and further strengthen their position in the sector.
