Endless LLP Sells Hovis to Associated British Foods

Hovis Group Limited (‘Hovis’) has been acquired by Associated British Foods plc (‘ABF’) from Endless LLP (‘Endless’).
The sale follows an extensive review by the Competition and Markets Authority, which cleared the transaction on 16 June 2026.
Founded in 1886, Hovis is one of the UK’s most iconic food brands, manufacturing both branded and private-label bread and bakery products for the UK’s leading grocery retailers and convenience channels.
ABF owns Allied Bakeries, a UK bakery business founded in 1935, which manufactures a range of bread and bakery products, including those sold under the Kingsmill brand.
The acquisition represents a positive outcome for the UK bakery industry, bringing together the complementary capabilities, expertise and resources of two amazing businesses. The combined group will be well positioned to drive innovation, enhance operational excellence and support long-term sustainable growth in a market that has faced longstanding challenges.
Aidan Robson, Managing Partner of Endless LLP, said:
“We are incredibly proud of the progress Hovis has made during our ownership. Working closely with the management team, we have supported the business through a period of amazing transformation, reinforcing the position of Hovis as one of Britain’s most iconic food brands. We believe ABF will be an excellent long-term owner for Hovis and is well placed to support the combined group. We would like to thank the entire Hovis team for their commitment and resilience over the last few years and wish them every success for the future.”
Endless LLP and Hovis were advised by Walker Morris (Legal and Regulatory), Freshfields (Regulatory) and FTI Consulting (Technology/Regulatory).
